Lighting events postponed indefinitely, say organisers

THE ORGANISER of LuxLive, the Lux Awards and Lighting Design Awards has announced that all its events are to be postponed indefinitely.

In a statement, owner Clarion Events said that, having continually looked at the landscape of events during the ongoing pandemic, it ‘would not be comfortable’ delivering ‘impaired events with impacted attendances’ that did not deliver Clarion’s high standard of return on investment for its customers.

‘While we continue to assess what 2022 will look like for the Revo business, all planned activity including the lighting news channel Lux Review will be on hold for the remainder of the year.

‘This is obviously extremely disappointing and a tough decision to have to have made but the effect of the pandemic continues to have a profound effect on the events landscape and indeed the sectors that the lighting community serve.’

James Samuel, portfolio director of the Revo brands, said: ‘I would like to go on record to say a huge thanks to all those that have supported LuxLive, Lighting Magazine, the Lux Awards and Lux Review especially over the last 12 months which delivered some exception digital events in very difficult circumstances.’

In that absence of a presentation ceremony, the winners of the 2020 Lighting Design Awards – postponed from last May – will be announced on the website on Monday 29 March 2021.
